Prime Minister Briceno Discusses Climate Change and Migration with US Officials

With Belize given a seat at the table, a variety of issues was discussed ranging from climate change, migration and border security.  Prime Minister John Briceno was recently in the United States, and had met with the US Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas and several other US officials.  As it relates to migration, Briceno noted that it is just a matter of time before Belize begin having an uncontrollable influx of migrants at our borders.

Prime Minister Briceno added that the government has recognized that there is a network in the country that is facilitating the movements of illegal migrants.  He noted that these include public officers as well as private individuals.
