Escapee Jaroud Lamb was captured over the weekend in Ontario village, Cayo District. Lamb is one of the twenty eight inmates that escaped from the Belize Central Prison in October of last year. Senior Superintendent of police, Joseph Myvette stated that Lamb was shot while police were trying to apprehend him.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “As a result police shouted at him and he then attempted to make good his escape where one single shot was fired towards his direction which caught him in his left calf. As a result he was then captured and transported to the Western Regional Hospital and then later to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains under police guard. Yes it is intelligence because the police has been in that area for some time based on the information we were getting that he has been in that area. There have been several operations carried out in that area in order to try and recapture him.”
Escapees Erwin Lanza and Michael Faux remain on the lam.
