Prominent Belizean Agriculturist John Zabaneh Passes Away

John Zabaneh passed away this morning. According to initial reports, Zabaneh died of a heart attack after reportedly feeling unwell for some time. Zabaneh was widely recognized as the largest citrus grower in the country and a major banana exporter. Beyond his contributions to agriculture, he was also one of the largest employers in southern Belize, providing jobs to hundreds in the region. Zabaneh remained committed to the citrus industry even after the decline.
