The Public Service Union President, Dean Flowers has commented on the restoration of salaries come July 1, 2022. According to Flowers, it is a welcoming decision, but there is the concern over the Prime Minister’s announcement regarding the public service pension scheme. In his comments yesterday, the PM noted that the pension scheme without contributions from the public officers would eventually become unsustainable and therefore a reform is now necessary. PSU President Flowers says he is not entirely comfortable with the idea but the joint unions will await the next meeting with government officials.
