In an effort to improve the public service, the Briceno Administration has trained thirty-seven public officers in good governance practices. The officers underwent a seven-week virtual “Good Governance” training course that was facilitated in partnership with Galen University. This morning there was an official certificate ceremony held at the National Assembly building in Belmopan. Minister of the Public Service Henry Charles Usher spoke about the importance of the initiative and how it will enhance the performance of public officers.
The facilitator for Galen University, Dr. Carlos Magana says the main focus of the course was to educate public officers on the negative impacts of corruption and the need to rid Belize’s governance system of the issue.
The initiative was launched in partnership with the Ministry of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and Galen University.
