Public Officers to Face Delayed Salary Payment Due to New System Implementation

For many, it may not seem a big deal, but the fact that public officers will note be getting paid until June 15, is a strange occurrence, so much so, because they are usually paid some three to four days before.  Today, the Accountant General at the Treasury Department has notified  government ministries and departments that salaries for the period, June 1 – 15, 2023 will be paid on the 15th. It is a minor adjustment being made, reportedly, due to a new payment method being used. The new payment method will see real time deposits for several credit unions. It is a change as by now, public officers would have already received their salaries.
