The Ministry of Public Service has announced the addition of new stars to the Walkway of Recognition in Belmopan. The initiative, which honors public officers who have served 25 years or more in the government service, has been expanded to include former officers who have dedicated 35 years or more to the nation. The decision to expand the recognition program came after requests were made to include former public officers who had retired after decades of service. The updated initiative now ensures that their contributions are celebrated alongside current officers. The stars, embedded in the walkway near the National Assembly, serve as a permanent reminder of their commitment to the development of Belize. Today, a signing ceremony was held to formalize the expansion of the program where Mayor of Belmopan, Pablo Cawich, emphasized the importance of acknowledging the hard work and sacrifices of public officers.
Several public officers were first recognized in September of 2024.
