PUP Endorses Bernard Wagner for Third Term as Mayor with Alan Pollard as Deputy

Two-time PUP Mayor, Bernard Wagner, was endorsed on Saturday to run for a third term in the upcoming municipal elections.  While the People’s United Party is yet to make an official public announcement, Love News has verified that Wagner received a grand endorsement from the PUP, with Alan Pollard as his deputy.  Wagner is serving his second consecutive term, and had requested an endorsement for a third term in order to finish the projects he had started.  Pollard who is currently serving as Deputy Mayor for Belize City had also expressed interest in the mayoral seat, and had indicated that he would not back down.  This weekend, however, at the PUP’s National Party Council meeting, the two men were called on stage where they hugged and shook hands upon the announcement of the endorsement.  Meanwhile, in Orange Walk Town, the current mayor, Ladrick Sheppard will be endorsed along with his councilor candidates on Sunday, October 15.  We expect a full announcement on the nine municipalities as soon as all aspirants have received an official letter from the PUP Secretariat.  We will keep you posted.
