PUP Endorses Marconi Leal Jr. as Standard Bearer for Belize Rural North

The People’s United Party (PUP) held a convention on Saturday to endorse Marconi Leal Junior as its new standard bearer for Belize Rural North. Leal, who takes over from his father, Marconi Leal Sr., was selected by the party to represent the area in the upcoming general elections. The convention, attended by PUP supporters and government ministers, marked an important moment for the party and the Leal family. In his speech, Leal Jr. expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized his determination to continue his father’s work. 

Leader of the People’s United Party John Briceno spoke on the party’s decision to endorse Leal Jr. and how he took the news when he learned that Sr. Leal was stepping away from politics. 

Coinciding with Sunday’s endorsement was the distribution of over 200 parcels of land in the Burrell Boom area
