For the remaining 30 divisions, the PUP will be endorsing all candidates including the newcomers, Lorna McKay in Queen’s Square area, Kaya Cattouse in Albert and Lawrence Ellis in Mesopotamia.  We further understand that a candidate for the Collet Division is yet to be secured but negotiations are underway with the potential candidate, Wendy Castillo.  Prime Minister and PUP’s Party Leader, John Briceno spoke on yesterday’s meeting assuring the media that there is no love lost within the blue and white camp.

Hon. John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: “I think Winston Churchill said, I think was that democracy is the best form of the best system of available in governance or anything. It’s messy, but it’s the best that we presently have. We allow people to speak out, to speak out their differences, and what’s important is that we do that in house and then once a decision is made, then we usually we ask and we expect that everybody is going to unite and stand by those decisions that the national executive has made.”
