Anthony Sylvestre Senior died early this morning at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City. Sylvestre, Belize’s former Cabinet Secretary, was in a coma for almost two weeks before he passed away. Former Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Said Musa, remembers Sylvestre as a stalwart and principled party supporter.

Honorable Said Musa: “I believe he was in charge of the public service around 2001 back when I was Prime Minister when the entire regulations of the public service was reorganized, modernized and Anthony was very instrumental in accomplishing that. He also served as a Cabinet Secretary before Bobby Leslie under Mr. Price for many years Anthony Sylvestre was the Cabinet Secretary. He was the man who was in charge of preparing Cabinet papers and preparing for the meetings of Cabinet which is of course is the governing body, the executive body of the entire country.
Johnelle Mckenzie: “Lenny Joe Usher Chairperson of the Order of Distinguished Service said that the position that was most there for him was being a part of the PUP.”
Lenny Joe Usher: “After his work with Government was over he served Mr. Price in his personal capacity as his secretary you know executing what Mr. Price had done. He also served not as the editor of the Belize Times but he faithfully got out the Belize Times on time. He was the Secretary General of the Party for a little while and he served Mr. Price until Mr. Price died.
