PUP Mourns Passing of Veteran Politician Ralph Fonseca

The People’s United Party (PUP) has issued a statement on the passing of the Honorable Ralph Fonseca, a prominent figure in Belizean politics and a former long-serving Minister. The release stated that beyond his ministerial and parliamentary roles, Fonseca was a key strategist for the PUP, notably serving as the National Campaign Manager and instrumental in securing several victories for the party.  In their announcement, the PUP eulogized Fonseca as a man possessing an “astute mind, unafraid to make the difficult and at times unpopular decisions.” They further described him as “a true nation builder who believed and lived by the principle, ‘your word is your bond.’” His political philosophy was characterized by a firm belief in “Capitalism with a social conscience,” a core value he upheld throughout his professional life.  The People’s United Party is calling on all Belizeans to extend their support, prayers, and solidarity to the Fonseca family during this time of grief. They remembered him as a “Herculean man who gave his best for his immediate family, PUP family, constituency and country.”  The party concluded its announcement with a solemn wish: “May the soul of Hon. Ralph Fonseca rest in peace and rise in glory.”
