The swearing in of new Senators topped today’s agenda as the Senate met in a regular sitting in the National Assembly building just after ten o’clock this morning.  President of the Senate, Lee Mark Chang presided over the swearing in of the Opposition Senators, Valerie Woods and Paul Thompson as well as that of Marcelo Blake who sat in for Business Community Senator, Mark Lizarraga;  Eamon Courtney, the third Opposition Senator was absent today and will be sworn in at a later date.  Senator responsible for Government Business, Godwin Hulse welcomed the three as well as a group of students of Solid Rock Academy who were on a school trip to the National Assembly.

Today’s sitting saw two motions givent the green light, namely, the appointment of Francine Burns to replace former Senator Juliet Thimbrel as a member of the National Assembly Committee and the approval of the Loan Motion for the Link Road Project.  The Senate also did the second and third reading of three Bills brought from the House of Representatives.
