PUP squashes PG’s Town Council’s chances of re-election

In recent weeks we have been reporting on the concerns being raised by five of the town councilors in Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District.  The concerns surround mismanagement, defying proper procurement procedures and the lack of proper accounting.  Mayor Charles Selgado has danced around the questions of his management, and tonight we have been reliably informed that the entire slate will not be running come March 2024.  Reports to our newsroom say that due to multiple issues raised by the very councilors themselves, senior members of the PUP have decided to reject any applications from the existing parties at the council.  We have been notified as to the persons who will be vying in the upcoming elections for Punta Gorda, and we will report further on it in tomorrow’s newscast.
