From a Facebook spat to a legal letter requiring an apology and compensation.  PUP City Councillor Albert Vaughan was reportedly being sought by police to be given a letter from the legal firm, Barrow and Williams after he shared a post on Facebook indicating that a UDP political figure was infected with COVID-19 and behaving recklessly.  Love News understands that Vaughan was served today with the letter that demands an apology and monetary compensation to UDP Standard Bearer, Orson Elrington. The backdrop to the story is that on March 27, Vaughan reposted on his Facebook timeline, a post originally made by the Association of Concerned Belizeans.  The letter from Barrow and Williams has indicated to Vaughan that he should issue a public apology and offer monetary compensation for the challenges his post caused Elrington.  In addition, Vaughan is to pay the legal fees incurred in this incident.  Love News spoke with Elrington earlier today who says that there are several other letters being distributed for instances of defamation on Facebook.  One recent allegation against Elrington on Facebook is his alleged involvement in a pornographic ring involving teenaged girls.  Love News is following this story.
