Rape Convict Granted 56-Month Sentence Deduction

A man convicted of rape walks away with 56 months sentence deduction. Today, 30-year-old Ignatius Williams was told that his initial 14 years sentence for the rape of a woman back in August 2019 would be deducted to 8 years, and 3 months. Williams broke into a woman’s house at around 8:00 a.m., placed a knife to the woman’s neck and forced her into a room of her house where he raped her. Initially he was remanded to prison where he later received bail and was later remanded back to prison on another criminal offense for a firearm charge. Williams pleaded guilty to the rape on December 11, 2023. With that, Justice Nanton, deducted 56 months since he saved the court time in going through a trial.
