Remains of Man reported missing found

The remains of a man who was reported missing months ago were found yesterday in Yemeri Grove Village in the Toledo District. The remains belong to 38-year-old Carlos Aldana who went missing in April. Toledo Senior Correspondent Paul Mahung was first on the scene and spoke to the family.

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: Family hopes, in Emory Grove Village, to find their missing family member have totally dwindled as discovery of a shallow grave with a decomposed body, that of missing 38 year old Carlos Aldana, was discovered by family member on a hunting trip at the family residence. Mother, Fedelia Aldana spoke to Love News.

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “The last time I saw my son, Carlos Aldana, it was right here by where he stayed by his house and then after that I didn’t see him come back. About three months I didn’t see him again.

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: Any idea where he went to?

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “I really don’t know. The only place I know. I really don’t know. I know he just always goes to Columbia. But, I went and I asked people up there and they told me that they haven’t seen him either.”

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: What were some of the things that your son Carlos did?

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “Well he used to like to do his farming, plant little plants around his house. He does construction work. He works for people whenever they ask him to do any work with construction.”

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: So he lived by himself?

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “Well, you could say he stayed by himself in his little house but I always do his work for him. I wash and I cook whenever he is there.”

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: So where is the last place you saw him over three months ago?

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “Well, right here by where he stayed in his house on a Monday evening. I saw him there.”

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: Had any particular habits? Tell us about that

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “Well, the only thing I know is that he used to like to drink. He used to like to drink. That’s what his habit was that he used to like to do.”

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: And so he had a lot of friends?

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “Well, I really don’t know if he had a lot of friends but I know he had accompanied his brother when he’s here and the neighbours sometimes come around along with him.

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: Now do you have any idea who would want to hurt him, take his life and so on?

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “I have no idea sir.”

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: What’s the latest information you have on him now?

Fedelia Aldana, Mother of Deceased: “What’s the latest information? That my brother went hunting across the street and he told me that he found something like a graveyard over there when he went hunting with his dogs and then when he found that he decided to call police and the police they did their check.

Paul Mahung, Love FM News: While family members are having closure to the disappearance of their family member, they remain concerned and saddened at the inhuman way Carlos Aldana’s 38 years of life ended. Looking across the opposite side of the road from where the family resides will for a long time have them recall unpleasant memories of where the lifeless body of a family member was irresponsibly laid to rest for three months in an improper burial location. The site and remains of the decomposed body was discovered about 2pm Monday about a quarter of a mile in the bush across the road where the family resides in Emory Grove Village 10 ¼ miles out Punta Gorda on the PG – San Antonio road. Police investigation continues. Reporting for Love News from Emory Grove Village, Toledo, I am Paul Mahung.
