Three groups of repatriated Belizeans are currently staying at the Radisson Fort George and Marina under mandatory quarantine.  Love News understands that each group has been assigned their own floor, and have minimal contact with the staff. The hotel’s General Manager, Sandra Grisham-Clothier, told us that the guests have all been cooperative with the covid-19 measures and aside from feeling too confined everything else has been a smooth ride.

Sandra Grisham – Clothier, General Manager, Radisson Fort George: “It worked out beautifully. It was set up so that we could get accustomed and get used to the first group which we were able to bring in and isolate them on certain floors then the second group came in we were again able to isolate them on certain floors and then we just recently brought in the last group which came in this Monday and we were again able to isolate them. What’s worked out well for us is that again these young Belizeans or middle-aged Belizeans they’ve been highly trained on the ship so they’ve been using all the right protocols. When we knock on the door to the deliver their room because we room service we deliver breakfast lunch and dinner for them,  they always put on their mask, open the door with a smile and we had them their food. Their loved ones are able to deliver things to them whether it be personal items or food or drinks or whatever and those are brought in to our front desk and again carefully handled and brought to their room; there’s even been some offers to pick up those items for them so there’s been a lot of assistance. We’ve been keeping the Radisson Fort George ready so all our rooms are clean ready to go we go touch them every day and we make sure that they’re well and that they’re set up or even now with the hotel being very full we now have two complete floors.I have one that is 12 on a floor and another one that’s 14 on a floor that I’m able to have for my transient and i’m still having transients come in every day.”

According to our count there have been 38 Belizeans repatriated via the cruise lines.
