Repeat Offender: Dangriga Man Faces Rape Charges for Second Time, Victim Only 15

Dangriga Police reportedly has a man in custody who is facing rape charges, yet again.  The man whose identity cannot be released until he is officially charged, is said to have had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.  The story takes a curious turn, as our newsroom understands that the accused had already served time for raping the very same girl about two years ago when she was 13-years-old.  According to an unofficial report, the child resides in Dangriga but had gone to spend a few days at her aunt’s home in Seine Bight Village.  Whilst there, the child reportedly ran away to Placencia to meet the accused where he had unlawful intercourse with her on three occasions.  Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, was on the ground in Dangriga today, and spoke of the situation.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “Something needs to be one in terms of whoever had the child. I’m told the child left home and said she was going to some relative and instead went to the same man who is accused of raping her and again the man raped her. I don’t see what the police can do in situations like those but certainly there is a need for human development to look at whoever had the child and see what error they may have made and see what can be done to make sure that the child is with somebody who is going to take better care of that child.”
