He burglarized the Ladyville Evangelical Primary School twice in 2 days and tonight he is serving a 3 1/2-year sentence on both counts after he changed his not guilty plea to guilty late yesterday evening when he appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court. He is 27-year-old, Hilberto Ramos, a Belizean unemployed of a no fix address who was charged with two counts of burglary. Ramos was arraigned back in March of this year on two counts of burglary for entering into the Ladyville Evangelical Primary School and taking several items, ranging from speaker to cleaning supplies and from classroom fans and other items. After six months on remand for the burglary, Ramos pleaded guilty to burglary and was imposed two 3-½ year sentences which are to run concurrently to each other rather than consecutively. Hence, he will only serve 3 ½ years in prison, rather than seven years.
