Residents in Belmopan City to Receive Improved Bridge
Tonight, there’s good news for residents in Belmopan City who have been using a makeshift bridge to enter their community. For months, residents of the J and W area of Belmopan have been using an improvised bridge made of cement blocks to traverse the area. The residents have been clamoring for an ease to their plight, and according to Evondale Moody, Engineering Coordinator at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, their calls have been answered.
Evondale Moody, Engineering Coordinator, Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing: “We received the bids last week Friday for the new J&W Bridge. I have just given the engineers those bids for them to carry out the evaluation and so I believe within another week or two weeks we’ll be awarding contract for the construction of a new J&W Bridge. We are thinking ahead of them.”
