Seventeen new high school students are benefiting from computer literacy and life skills training, being hosted by Restore Belize. The sessions are for the new recipients of Restore Belize’s I Am Belize Scholarship Program. The training is being done in collaboration with the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE). Over the next two weeks, students will engage in sessions that will help them prepare for high school life and sensitize them about the support programs of Restore Belize. Executive Director Christine Smith and Danielson Correa, senior IT Officer at BELTRAIDE, explained what the students will be doing during the program.
The soft skills training includes sessions on notetaking, communication skills, and time management. The I Am Belize Scholarship Program supports 66 students from first to fourth form, with fees, tuition, books, and meals. Restore Belize also provides tutoring and counseling services.
