Restoring Lamanai Archeological Reserve for the Generations to Come

The Lamanai Archeological Reserve has been undergoing a major restoration project over the past year. An opening ceremony was held today in Orange Walk District to celebrate the work that is being done at the site. The opening ceremony featured a traditional Maya blessing and cultural dance by a local dance group. Giovanna Moguel tells us more about this festive occasion and why it’s such an important undertaking.
