Retired police officer involved in car accident

There was a road traffic accident on Friday night in Camalote village, Cayo District.  The incident involved a retired police officer. Correspondent Fem Cruz was on the scene and file this report.

There was a road traffic accident on Friday night in Camalote village, Cayo District.  The incident involved a retired police officer. Correspondent Fem Cruz was on the scene and file this report.

Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent, Love FM News: “Herbert Anthony, a retired police officer of Camalote Village Cayo district is hospitalized at the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan after he collided into the side of a gold Ford F -150 pick up truck. According to the driver of the truck, 25 year old Peter Johnson of Spanish Lookout Cayo  district, sometime around 8:45 last night he was on his way from Belize City to Spanish Lookout his home and upon reaching between mile 49 and 50 in the village of Camalote a Toyota pickup truck that was coming in the opposite direction began to swerve in his lane. To avoid a head on collision he took an extreme right, at that point the pickup truck collided into the side of his truck. As a result, Herbert Anthony sustained injuries to his face, head and right hand and complained of pain to his entire body. Police are investigating this latest traffic incident that almost claimed the life of Anthony.

There was another road traffic accident on Saturday just before two o’clock in the afternoon in Camalote Village, Cayo District. Upon reaching mile 50 on the George Price Highway, David De Paz, the driver of a Toyota Prado, made a left turn onto the highway oblivious to the fact that there was a motorcycle on his tail. As a result, the driver on the motorcycle, Alexander Areza Russia, collided into the back of the Prado leaving him injured.
