Retired Police Officers Move Toward Forming New Association

Retired police officers from northern Belize came together on Saturday for a luncheon that recognised their years of service and opened discussions on forming an Association of Retired Officers. The Belize Police Department hosted the gathering, giving former officers a chance to reconnect with colleagues and speak with current police leaders about continued support for retirees.  Among those honoured was retired Assistant Commissioner of Police George Huener. At eighty-three, he was the oldest retiree in attendance.  Plans for the proposed association received a boost from Assistant Commissioner Alford Grinage, who contributed one thousand dollars to help get it started.  Commissioner of Police Dr. Richard Rosado, Deputy Commissioners Sandra Bowden and Alden Dawson, and Assistant Commissioner Grinage were among the senior officers recognised for supporting the event.
