Passengers on an O. Tillett Bus heading into Belize City were shaken up following an incident this morning on the Philip Goldson Highway. That incident, just before eight o’clock, left some of the bus passengers with minor injuries. 36-year-old Rolando Noh, the driver of the bus, was making his way into Belize City with about 50 passengers. It was when he got into an area near Mile 27 on the Philip Goldson Highway in Sand Hill Village, the front wheel on the driver’s side sustained a blowout. Noh lost control of the bus and ran off the road in a swampy area. It first crashed into a lamp post and then into a yellow truck, owned by 32-year-old Luke Anthony Crawford. The front of the bus sustained significant damage. Noh complained of pain to the centre of his back. Police say that 32-year-old Seleny Toledano complained of pain to the knees; 32-year-old Jerelee Arthurs had scrapes to the left knee and pain to the left shoulder and back; Arianne Bustillos, a 38-year-old of Orange Walk Town sustained a swollen right elbow and pain to back and Jiyad Hendy, also of the town, had pain to the chest.
