Roaring Creek Resident Injured in Hit and Run Accident
A resident of Roaring Creek Village was injured on Saturday night in a road traffic accident on the George Price Highway. Around 9:20, Jamie Arnold was driving his motorcycle when he collided with a KIA SUV. Arnold was flung to the pavement and sustained severe injuries. He was transported to the Western Regional Hospital for medical attention, while the driver of the SUV sped off. Love News spoke to Enrique Chiac, one of the first persons on the scene, about the incident.
Witness: “I was logging off of work, we had just come off so all of us were sitting down in front of the gas station when we heard a bang. So when we heard this bang now and I saw a black vehicle and a cycle. So when this happened we saw that the person flew off the cycle so we saw that the person in the vehicle didn’t stop he went. So we hurry rushed and went to render aid to see if we could help. When we got there I realized I know the person. His name is Jamie Arnold a friend of mine. So when he was on the ground I saw a large cut wound by the right eye and from his knee I saw some scratches. Behind his head I think where he fell on the road it looked like he must have burst his head. We were hollering, we were asking if he was hearing us but it was as if he was not responding we just saw like he was struggling to breathe a little bit. A little while after that I think one of my coworkers called the police and a little while after that the police reached and we were trying to get a vehicle to take him to the hospital. Luckily a passerby stopped and he rendered aid and put him in the vehicle and took him to the hospital. I really hope that he is alright.”
