Robbery in La Democracia Ends in Capture of Suspects

A woman was aggressed and robbed at gunpoint in front of a toddler in La Democracia on Friday night.  The woman, a shop owner, was forced to open the burglar bar door when one of the gunmen pushed his upper body inside the service window and pointed a firearm at the woman.  The woman was forced to open the door, where at least three men were seen on video, entering the establishment armed and masked.  The thieves were able to take 25 hundred dollars and a cellular phone.  Their escape was short-lived, however, as quick response from Police were able to recover the cell phone in a yard in the area, and detain three people.  Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero said that one person has been charged in connection with the incident.

No one was reportedly harmed during the incident.
