Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “Let me first and foremost say thanks to Mr.Mariano for his 38 years of service to the Belize Police Department and the country of Belize. I believe his served with distinction and he rose all the way to the rank of Deputy Commissioner coming through the ranks. He’s a good friend of mine I must say and he’ll be missed. He was as you’d know our commander of administration who is one of the second deputy. That post is now being held by Assistant Commissioner Desiree Magdaleno and so basically she has taken over his position and hopefully in the not too distant future she’ll be elevated to the rank of Deputy Commissioner and then we go from there.”

According to a Facebook post made by Mariano, he is getting ready to serve his country again in another capacity.
