Eleven primary schools utilizing the RACHEL learning program received a much-needed donation today from the Rotary Club of Belize. The Belize District schools received computer equipment to support the Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning program. The venture seeks to enhance education and literacy in schools and close the learning gap created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Maria Price, Executive Secretary of the Rotary Club of Belize, spoke about the importance of the venture.
The program produced tremendous results at the Kolbe Foundation, where it was first piloted. And, according to Anne Pook, an elementary school teacher, RACHEL has been making learning much easier for her students.
The schools taking part in the project are Lucky Strike Government Primary, St. Agnes Anglican Primary, Crooked Tree Government Primary School, Unity Presbyterian, Salvation Army, St. Luke Primary, St. Ignatius, St. John Anglican, and Stella Maris School.
