RTA in Ladyville over the weekend

An employee of Grace Kennedy Belize Limited was injured during a road traffic incident that occurred at mile six on the Philip Goldson Highway Saturday night just after five o’clock.

An employee of Grace Kennedy Belize Limited was injured during a road traffic incident that occurred at mile six on the Philip Goldson Highway Saturday night just after five o’clock. 29-year-old Malcolm Longsworth was driving towards Ladyville Village, Belize District when he collided into a bus from Silva’s Bus Company. Longsworth was trapped inside the vehicle but managed to survive the incident. According to Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero, they have issued the driver of the bus, 25-year-old Brandon Wagner and Longsworth with a Notice of Intended Prosecution.

Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero, Belize Police Department: Upon their arrival they saw a Silva’s bus parked on the side of the road and a grey four door car was also seen in the area with extensive damages. Investigations revealed that both vehicles were travelling on the highway and when the car attempted to overtake the bus and ten collided with a vehicle.”

Longsworth has already been discharged and is back home with his fiance and daughter.
