Salvadoran and Nicaraguan Men Arraigned for Debit Card Theft

A Salvadoran and a Nicaraguan were both arraigned in court today for stealing a debit card.  Twenty-four-year-old, Kevin Rivas and twenty-four-year-old Rigkby Perez appeared before Chief Magistrate Jayani Wegodapola where they were charged with two counts of theft. Rivas pleaded not guilty to the charge, while Perez took responsibility for the offenses. For his guilty plea, he was fined one thousand dollars plus five dollars cost of court for one count, and two hundred and five dollars for the second count. On July 7, Perez reportedly took the stolen card and made purchases in Belize City at Five Brother’s Nightclub totaling six hundred and eighty-eight dollars. He also made forty-nine dollars’ worth of purchases at Foxx’s Nightclub.
