San Estevan, OW gets Digital Connect Centre

San Estevan Village in the Orange Walk District will have yet another gateway to the World Wide Web of information and entertainment, thanks to the launch of a Digital Connect Centre in the community. The project, which has the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has provided new computers and supporting equipment to the community’s library. Prime Minister of Belize and Orange Walk Central Area Representative, John Briceno is hopeful that the equipment will open up new avenues for the village.

For his part, the UNDP’s Deputy Resident Representative, Ian King outlined that the items are aligned with the organisation’s support for Belize’s development agenda.

The village’s chairperson, Rosy Chan-Tun added that these pieces of equipment are a welcome addition to the community and will help students and parents alike to navigate the massive world of information.
