The San Pedro Government School in Corozal received a donation of a new school building, funded by the United States Government*. *This was done through a project originated under the Beyond the Horizon 2020 initiative of the U.S. Southern Command. Love News spoke with Abner Bobadilla, the principal of the school, who explained how this will benefit the students and teachers.
The three-classroom building consists of a four-stall restroom, an elevated water tank and a sidewalk that interconnects the facilities on the compound. United States Public Affairs Officer, Adam Benz, stated that the U.S. supports Belize’s efforts to get students back to face to face learning. Additional U.S. funded construction is underway at the San Antonio Government School in Corozal. This educational Facility is expected to be completed this April.
