San Pedro Man Found Guilty of Sex Offences Against Child

San Pedro resident, Fidel Medina, has been found guilty of two of three sex offences against a nine-year-old girl.  Late this evening, Justice Nanton Candace announced that the sentencing will be done at a later date.  Medina, a 45-year-old resident of the San Mateo area of was represented by Attorney Lynden Jones.  He was found guilty in a trial by judge without jury.  He was found guilty of one count of assault of a child under sixteen by penetration and sexual assault but was found not guilty on the third count of sexual assault.  The main witness was the child who is now eleven years old.    During the trial, the 11-year-old girl was only able to recollect her testimony on two occasions that Medina touched her.   She testified in court that sometime between April 1, 2023, and June 12, 2023, Medina touched her when she was only 9 years old on two occasions.  In his defense, Medina remained silent.
