San Pedro Retired Teacher Arrested for Fraud: Allegedly Swindled Buyer in Secret Beach Land Deal

A retired teacher of San Pedro Town has been arrested and charged for obtaining property by deception.  The 52-year-old is in police custody tonight after failing to deliver two parcels of land that 45-year-old, Roberto Canul was paying him for.  Alex Mario Nunez of the San Marcos Area had reportedly approached the buyer in December 2021, offering to sell him two properties purportedly located on Secret Beach.  The first had a value of seventy five thousand dollars while the second was valued at one hundred thousand dollars.  Canul accepted to do business with Nunez, and began paying him in installments.  He made the first installment on December 16, 2021 in the sum of eight thousand dollars.  Further payments were reportedly made in the weeks ahead, amounting to forty eight thousand dollars.  According to Canul, each time he would ask Nunez about the land, he would only tell him that the Lands Department is processing the transfer.  In March this year, Canul got tired of waiting, and went to the San Pedro Police yesterday to file a report against Nunez.  Nunez was picked up by Police, and the charges were levied.  Love News has received multiple reports that there are other cases of fraud that Nunez will be charged for.  We are following this story.
