Police have arrested a woman from San Pedro Town for alleging setting her home and two others on fire. On Tuesday, around 2 p.m., flames broke out at a two-story structure in the San Pablo area of San Pedro Town. The fire quickly fanned out and engulfed two other homes, a four-bedroom bungalow, and a small wooden structure. The inferno destroyed three of the structures and displaced six adults and four minors. Police launched an investigation and yesterday charged 28-year-old Isela Catzim, whose home the fire started, with five counts of arson. On Wednesday, Catzim’s family told our newsroom that the mother of one had vanished shortly after the flames were extinguished. The motive behind the blaze is unknown at this time. Catzim’s mother and other relatives resided in the structures that were destroyed. If you are willing and able to assist the victims, they can be reached at 631-2707 or 627-8990.
