HIPOLITO NOVELO REPORTING
“Kareem Arnold, a twenty seven year old of Ladyville, died on impact while 21 year old Churchill Bernard Fresh Pond in Burrell Boom remains hospitalized at the KHMH. Both men were on separate motorcycles travelling in opposite directions in Sandhill Village. Upon approaching Mile 19, Bernard who was coming from Ladyville and heading towards Biscayne, decided to overtake a vehicle. At the same time, Arnold was coming from the opposite direction on his black motorcycle. It was head on collision that caused an explosion.”
“What I heard was like an explosion and then I looked through the window and I saw fire and people trying to out a fire so I came outside and when I came outside I walked toward the highway and I noticed that the crowd as building up and I came across the road and I saw two persons lying on the ground. The two looked dead to me but when I noticed one of them was breathing, gasping really, and then the people were shouting to bring a vehicle to take him. I told them that since it was an accident that we should have just called an ambulance and in the meantime we should have turned him on his side.”
“You believe he died on impact?”
“He didn’t die on impact because when I came I could have heard them say that the two of them were breathing. When I went there I saw a guy over him checking his pulse, then he said that the man had died.”
“Arnold was pronounced dead on the scene and Bernard was rushed to the KHMH for treatment. Investigators say that Arnold’s motorcycle did not have a headlight.”
SR SUPT EDWARD BROASTER
“We found a portable spot light that is used on the forehead apparently believed to be worn by Mr.Arnold. We do not know at this time whether or not it was operational.”
“The two motorcycles are in the compound of The Ladyville police Station. Both are extensively damaged and entangled into each other. Police say that the missing head lights may be the cause of this latest accident.”
SR SUPT EDWARD BROASTER
“We believe that given the circumstances that the apparently the motorcycle that Mr.Arnold was on had no headlight that may have been the cause of the accident. The motorcycle that he was on the gas tank also engulfed in flames and he got burns to his lower extremities.”
“Bernard was riding a Blue Suzuki Racing Motorcycle, something that Calbert Budd sees every weekend.”
“It’s a constant thing almost sometime every day, every minute you hear the ninja bikes zooming up and down the highway and apparently they go from the bump to somewhere around the curve, I don’t know how far and they come back.”
Churchill Bernard is at the KHMH in an induced coma.
