Sandhill Village Home Engulfed in Flames: Community Efforts Avert Disaster

A home in Sandhill Village in the Belize District was partially destroyed by fire this afternoon. Just after 3 o’clock, a concrete structure in the village caught on fire. Details surrounding the incident are scarce, but our newsroom understands that no one was at home at the time when the fire started. Fortunately for the homeowner, residents in the area and the police came together to extinguish the flames before fire officials arrived. Nonetheless, the structure was extensively damaged. We’ll have more in our subsequent newscast.
