Sandra Bodden Rises to Deputy Commissioner of Police in Historic Promotion

Sandra Bodden, a career police officer, has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).  Bodden’s promotion received the green light from the Security Services Commission last week.  It was just nine months ago that senior cop had traveled to Japan for a management course for law enforcement agents as part of a bilateral agreement with Belize.  Last year, the 53-year-old cop took over the reins of Commander Administration after heading the Special Branch Unit for a period.  Bodden, who has always enjoyed the confidence and support of Commissioner Chester Williams, is now awaiting an official correspondence from the commission to take up her new post.  Meanwhile, the promotion of Gualberto Garcia was also approved, meaning that he will soon rank as an Assistant Commissioner of Police.  Garcia has also had his turn at heading the Special Branch Unit, as well as other units across the country.
