Santa Elena Shooting Victim Dies from Injuries; Investigation Underway

The violence in Santa Elena Town continues as one Anthony Smith lost his life after succumbing to his injuries sustained in a targetes shooting. The incident occurred in front of China Town Restaurant where Smith was seated. Local Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this shooting.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division “On Sunday the 30th day of June 2024, police responded to a shooting incident in front of a restaurant in Santa Elena Town, Cayo district. Upon arrival, they learned that when Anthony Smith, 30 years, had been shot and was taken for treatment. Police visited the hospital thereafter where they learned that Anthony Smith had succumbed to his injuries. Investigators revealed that Smith was sitting in front of the restaurant when a motorcycle came and a male person came off the motorcycle and fired several shots towards his direction causing his fatal injuries. We have several persons detained in regards to this murder.”
