It’s called Xi’el (SHE-YILL) and it is the name of the Sarstoon Temash Institute for Indigenous Management’s new clothing line. The brand is a cross between indigenous Mayan traditional apparell and modern fashion designs. The name of the brand is a Mayan word that translates to, ‘the beloved brand’. The line was officially launched today with four designs for women and one for men. Executive Director at SATIIM, Maya Choc says the hand-crafted products are one of a kind and are only the first of many.
You can purchase items from the clothing line from SATIIM’s headquarters in Punta Gorda or through the organization’s Facebook Page.///
