SCEJC Students Showcase Innovations at Open Day Event

Students at Stann Creek Ecumenical Junior College (SCEJC) held a special open day today to showcase what they have been learning. The event saw the school’s four departments selling products that they have been fine-tuning since January. Students sold sustainable products such as coconut cups, and innovative food ideas such as wings crusted with Cheetos instead of breadcrumbs. Florence Cayetano, head of the business department, said that the students had to develop a business and meet a set profit target. 

Cayetano added that selling products at the open day was the final exam for students within the business and science departments. The students were also tasked with generating business cards, flyers, commercials, and other promotional materials for today’s event.
