Schools are Preparing to Participate in Disability Parade

Belize continues to observe Disability Week to bring awareness to the importance of acceptance and inclusion of persons who are differently abled. In commemoration of this event, Stella Maris School in Belize City will be participating in a Disability Parade that will commence at the Shell One Stop Roundabout on Cemetery Road and will conclude at the Battlefield Park.  This year’s theme is “Meaningful Inclusion Matters”, and, Stella Maris teacher, Sherrie Salgado, says this is why it is important to encourage people from all walks of life to participate in these events.

The parade begins at ten o’clock in the morning. Those who would like to participate are encouraged to begin assembling by 9:30 am.
