The Scouts Association of Belize came closer to its dream of establishing its headquarters in February when a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the building. The headquarters will be located on Albert Street West in Belize City and will be named after its patron, Sir Colville N Young. Hilberto Riverol, the Executive Director of the Belize Scouts Foundation, is extending an invitation to supporters of the Scouts Association of Belize to witness this momentous occasion.
Dr. Rene Villanueva, Chair of the Belize Scout Foundation said that the building is expected to cost eight-hundred thousand dollars.
The Foundation is still receiving financial donations for the building and those interested to donate can contact the Executive Director, Hilberto Riverol, at 610-5320. The Scouts headquarters is the first building being named after Sir Colville N. Young. The Scouts Association of Belize remains active in the country with various activities and initiatives geared at engaging young people. The driving of the piles for the building will commence at 2:00 p.m. next Wednesday.
