Sean Duncan Addresses Questions After Senate Inquiry Testimony

Upon exiting the National Assembly building, Duncan granted an interview where he spoke on his inability to answer specific questions.  He also spoke on the line of questioning regarding the land acquisitions.

Sean Duncan, Nine Enterprise: “We were not given full disclosure so they gave us date specific questions so it was very difficult for me to remember, to remember what exactly when things happened and when transaction transpired. So full disclosure would have been the best option. It was very difficult for me to actually remember back. These proceedings I’m not used to it so it puts some level of stress on you.”

Reporter: How did you feel about the Senate’s line of questioning? I believe that they were sort of badgering you over lands that your company acquired.

Sean Duncan, Nine Enterprise: “Yes, I believe that they were trying to, well they were leading me in a direction to say that we should not own land. I believe every Belizean has a right to own land in the country. An entity has a right to own land in the country. So… that was something that I felt uncomfortable with, but I mean, I believe that it went well.”

Reporter: Could you better explain your relationship with Mr. Morales, because I believe you brought him up multiple times during today’s session stating that he was the person more dealing with the logistics of the land transfers and stuff and you were just signing.
Sean Duncan, Nine Enterprise: “Yeah, that’s correct. Mr. Morales is the Managing Director of Nine Enterprises Limited and he’s also an attorney at law. So he is better prepared to be drafting and dealing with these sort of transactions, the documents. And that’s the reason I brought him up because he was the right person to be able to answer those questions that they were asking me.”
