Second Suspect Remanded in K and S Store Armed Robbery Case

A second suspect in the armed robbery of K and S store in La Democracia Village has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison. 25-year-old, Evander Usher, who is a member of the Leadership Intervention Unit’s team, was charged in the Belize City Magistrate’s court for a single count of robbery. Usher pleaded not guilty to the charge and added that he does not even know the other person who was charged in connection with the incident. Due to the nature of the offense bail was denied and remanded until December 28. The other suspect 21-year-old Shemar Brakeman was arraigned and then remanded on Thursday. On Friday, October 20, three men went to the store, where the owner also lives, and robbed the owner and her family members of twenty-five hundred dollars in cash and a cellphone. The phone was later recovered by police.
