Selling spots in the Immigration Lines?

The Immigration Department has been on the receiving end of much public criticism about the sluggish pace of the passport process from application to final receipt. But reports on social media have continued unabated. People continue to complain about the long lines, which start assembling very early in the mornings. But there are reports that space holders are also part of a hustle. The complaint is that a person assigns ticket numbers to a middle man who then sells the ticket number to persons who are willing to pay for it to secure a spot in the line. We are told that this hustling ring is made of several players. So as we understand it, the idea is the tickets are sold to people, who desperately want to get their passport applications processed quickly. Not only does this disrupt the natural order of the lines but it is seen as a hustle on at least one person within the department, leading a network of others on the outside. We reached out today to the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Gilroy Middleton and our request for clarification has gone unanswered.
