Senators Debate GOB’s 3.6 Billion Dollar Budget

The Senate met today in Belmopan where they debated the PUP Government’s one point three six billion dollar budget. Senator for Government Business, Eamon Courtenay rose to speak on the benefits of the budget as well as the increases in several ministries. He said this was Plan Belize becoming a reality.

Opposition Senator, Darrell Bradley rose with several points of concerns and questions primarily regarding government expenditure. Senator Bradley, said that GOB’s has its priority mixed up.

Also rising to speak on the budget was Senator of the Private Sector, Kevin Herrera. While Senator Herrera praised the government in some areas, he shared some concerns he had with some of the allocations.

The Sitting of the Senate began just after nine o’clock this morning and saw the swearing-in of Attorney Orson Elrington who is sitting in for Lead Opposition Senator, Michael Peyrefitte.
