Senior Counsel Godfrey Smith Elected Chairman of University of Belize Board

The University of Belize has elected Senior Counsel Godfrey Smith to serve as the new Chairman of its board. Yesterday, UB’s Board of Trustees met and elected Smith, replacing Anthony Sylvester, who left in June to serve as the Attorney General. Smith is the designated Minister of Education’s Representative and has pledged to take the national institution to new heights. He is a prominent attorney at law and previously served as a government minister under the People’s United Party.
